Dan Ferguson

Dan Ferguson paints memories of people and places, and always tries to honour their spirit and history. These memories can be his, or belong to others, and they can be recollections of stoic, political, romantic, playful, and terrifying experiences, but they do not tend to address an issue head on. There is often a difficult narrative that can obfuscate, mislead, and deny a reading, as much as it can invite one. Ferguson’s paintings are influenced by his explorations of the mechanics of memory and his interest in the notion of perception and ‘fused horizons’ or how we all affect each other with our experiences and observations.
