About this work: 'Telling Their Story, Singing Their Song series celebrates a strong connection to the artist's ancestors and the impression they have left on the place she calls home. As traditional, smallholding, Irish farmers her ancestral family had a natural instinct to utilise all materials as precious with everything having a purpose and place of importance. As a custodian to her home place and her people, this work celebrates a frugal attention to detail and honours the simple and mundane as beautiful and worthy. Small, rescued layers of the artist's 250-year-old home place, are assembled to subtly tell the story of individuals long gone but very present through the resonance of their past presence. Each panel echoes of a time and people gone by.' Tracey McVerry
