Frances O’Reilly is a multi-disciplinary artist, working in painting and photography. The intertwining of the natural landscape and the human spirit is a common thread in her work. Her abstract paintings are a form of mapping, both the external and internal landscape, as she attempts to touch on the ‘feeling of place’ and its residual afterlife. Drawing upon experiences of landscapes, the artist develops visual stories with a language of geometric based forms, patterns and motifs, to which colour is central.
