Justė Bernotaitė
Jutė Bernotaitė is an award-winning emerging artist. She graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Ulster, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Following her graduation, this university offered her a residency in recognition of her exceptional talent. Her work has been showcased at high profile exhibitions including at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin and at the Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast.
Bernotaitė’s artistic practice looks at how the past leaves its imprint on the landscape, and explores the quiet presence of what often resist visibility. She works with dense and textured surfaces, built from pigments and layered gestures, that evoke erosion, sediment, and transformation. These surfaces become sites where historical and lived experiences converge.
