About this work: ‘Quoile is a based on a thumbnail sketch of the Quoile river when it flooded it banks in January 2021. I have returned here to using more delineated shapes as in my earlier work however the amorphous nature of the forms stays true to the organic subject matter. This style creates a contradiction between our desire to delineate the landscape and nature’s disinclination to let us.' Sarah McWilliams

Sarah McWilliams is a multidisciplinary artist. After living and working in England for many years, she lately relocated in Northern Ireland, her ‘home’, and started exhibiting her work in the region. Her recent series of painted landscapes are informed from photos and collages created in response to a particular place and then digitally manipulated. The concept behind this process continues to reflect the power of art to transform the debris of modern life, whilst also reflecting the relationship between person and place.
