Robert McLearnon is an award-winning painter. His engaging dynamic paintings feature bold gestural marks and saturated hues. Energetic movements can alternate with slower rhythms, and vibrant colours with more earthy tones, thus creating different moods and atmospheres. His works moves between purely abstract compositions, to interplays of abstraction and figuration, often depicting surreal human forms suspended in colour. His practice draws on observations of, and interactions with people, time and place.
